We
invite you to come stay with us at our tranquil park, exclusively
for "Adults Only". Overbrook is situated on the site of the old
railway station (line no longer in use) on the outskirts of the
picturesque village of Thornton le Dale in the North Yorkshire Moors
National Park.
The village has a wonderful quaint and nostalgic feel. It is home to
the famous ‘Thatched Cottage’ and has a small green with an ancient
market cross and stocks. Thornton Beck is a small stream which runs
through the village and under the railway property. There is also a
wide variety of wildlife including Kingfishers, Herons and the many
ducks that swim the Beck.
The village centre is a level half mile walk where there are three
public houses which serve food, a fish and chip shop, butcher, two
bakers, several tea rooms and gift shops and a fantastic bistro.
There is an excellent bus service that can take you as far as the
city of York, the market town of Helmsley or to the seaside resorts
of Whitby & Scarborough. Of course Pickering is only 4 miles away
and has a range of banks, shops and a supermarket not to mention the
North Yorkshire Moors Railway which runs up through ‘Heartbeat
Country’ and beyond.
We have 50 hard standing, well drained pitches all with
electric hook ups and you are only ever 30 yards from your
nearest water point. We have a heated toilet block with
spotless facilities, free hot showers, toilets, razor points
and a privacy cubicle for the ladies. For the 2008 season we
have introduced a laundry room with two washers and two
dryers, all coin operated. We can boast attractive views,
from every pitch, of the surrounding countryside.
Overbrook Caravan Park has achieved the David Bellamy
Conservation Gold Award and is also a member of the
exclusive Tranquil Touring Parks group. In 2009 we were
awarded the Yorkshire In Bloom, Silver Gilt Award. We also
gained the accolade of being voted into the countries Top
100 Sites, as compiled by Practical Caravan Magazine.
As resident owners, Natalie & Darren Ellis, understand that
excellent service and personal attention to detail is essential.
Whether you are new to caravanning or a seasoned caravanner, if you
desire a peaceful, relaxed environment then you are sure to find
your stay at Overbrook Caravan Park a pleasure.
The park is open from 1st March to 7th January and we always
welcome visits to the park prior to booking your stay with us.
